Anti-Climb Product in Use Sign in Manchester

from £26.82 ISO 7010 W001

Anti-climb paint only deters if people know it is there. A clear warning stops most attempts before they start, and tells legitimate visitors, such as window cleaners and roofers, to keep their hands off.

About this product

Anti-climb paint stays slippery and marks whoever touches it, but only a sign turns that hidden hazard into a visible deterrent.

Placing signs on a treated boundary in Manchester

Think of the back of a row of shops in Farnworth, where flat roofs, drainpipes and a rear gate give easy access to upstairs windows. The owner treats the drainpipes and the top of the gate with anti-climb paint and fits rotating spikes along the wall. A4 or A3 signs go on each treated drainpipe and on the gate, below the treated area so the sign itself stays clean and readable. On the wall, signs at regular intervals along its length mean nobody can approach any part without seeing one.

Which board for an outdoor boundary

Outdoors for the long haul, Dibond is the board: aluminium skins on a solid core, fixed with screws or bolts. Foamex works for a shorter period or a sheltered spot. Vinyl sticks to smooth flat surfaces, such as a metal door or a painted panel, but not to brick or a round pipe. On a drainpipe, a small Dibond sign on a bracket or banded to the pipe is neater than vinyl.

Size by distance: about a metre of reading distance for every 25 mm of the sign's short side, so A4 reads from about 8 m and A3 from about 12 m. The person responsible for the property decides how many signs a boundary needs.

The design is ready-made. Prices start at £26.82. After dispatch, a tracked courier usually takes 1 to 3 working days, £7.95 or free over £100. Collect from our Manchester office at Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, M8 8EB once we email. See more under security and CCTV signs.

Artwork checkEvery uploaded file is checked by a person for resolution, size and bleed.

What size should I order?

Pick a size people can read from where they will stand. As a cautious rule, using the distance-factor method in ISO 3864-1, allow roughly 1 metre of reading distance per 25 mm of sign height (measured on the shorter side). Check it against your own risk assessment.

SizeCan be read from about
A4 (210 × 297 mm)8 m
A3 (297 × 420 mm)12 m
A2 (420 × 594 mm)17 m
A1 (594 × 841 mm)24 m

Good lighting stretches the reading distance; in dim spots, go a size up.
