Caution Pedestrians Look Left Sign in Manchester
On a one-way lane, people instinctively look the way they would on a normal road, which can be the wrong way. Telling them exactly where the traffic comes from removes the guesswork at the kerb.

About this product
One-way delivery loops in Denton and Greater Manchester
Many distribution and manufacturing yards run a one-way loop: in at one gate, round the building, out at the other. Staff cross that loop from the car park to the clocking-in door. Because the loop runs the opposite way to what feels natural, a person at the kerb can glance right, see nothing, and step out in front of a van coming from the left. A board at the crossing, at eye level and facing the walker, fixes the habit.
When the one-way system changes
Yards get reorganised. A new loading dock opens, the loop is reversed, and the old look-left signs stay up, now telling people to look the wrong way. Whenever the traffic flow changes, swap these signs before the new layout opens. It is worth ordering the look right version at the same time if a change is planned, and keeping them in the office. Where traffic is two-way, use the look both ways sign instead.
Material and fixing
It is read from a metre or two, so A3 is usually right. Fix Foamex to a wall beside a door, Correx to a fence or barrier, and Dibond to a post outdoors. Arrows painted on the road surface back up the message well.

What size should I order?
Pick a size people can read from where they will stand. As a cautious rule, using the distance-factor method in ISO 3864-1, allow roughly 1 metre of reading distance per 25 mm of sign height (measured on the shorter side). Check it against your own risk assessment.
| Size | Can be read from about |
|---|---|
| A3 landscape (420 × 297 mm) | 12 m |
| A2 landscape (594 × 420 mm) | 17 m |
| A1 landscape (841 × 594 mm) | 24 m |
Good lighting stretches the reading distance; in dim spots, go a size up.
