A Keep Your Work Area Tidy sign speaks to one person at one workstation, which is why Manchester machine shops and joinery benches use it. It is a blue mandatory sign in A4, A3, A2 or A1, made on self-adhesive vinyl, 3mm Foamex or 3mm Dibond. Production is 5 working days before tracked delivery.

Keep Your Work Area Tidy Sign in Manchester
Offcuts, swarf and trailing leads cause trips and worse. A sign at each bench makes the rule personal: your area, your job to keep it clear. It works best as a reminder at the end of a task, right where the tools go down.

About this product
"Your" is the important word. A general tidy sign on a corridor wall talks to nobody in particular; this one belongs at the lathe or bench saw.
Inside a Greater Manchester machine shop
In a Bolton engineering firm with a row of CNC machines and manual lathes, swarf builds up fast and leads get strung across the floor to portable tools. Here the sign sits best on the machine guard or the wall at the end of each bench, where an operator faces it while cleaning down. Vinyl at A4 is the usual choice because it sticks flat to a guard panel.
The catch: vinyl will not grip a guard coated in cutting fluid. Degrease the panel and let it dry first, or the corners lift within a week. If the guard is curved or textured, screw a Foamex panel to the nearest wall instead.
How you organise housekeeping is a matter for your own risk assessment; the sign just keeps the expectation visible.
Size and order details
A4 reads from about 8 m and fits a bench. A2, around 17 m, makes sense at the head of a production line where a supervisor wants it seen from the aisle. Dibond is only needed outdoors, such as an open-sided timber store. Prices start at £26.82.
It takes 5 working days to make, and the courier usually delivers 1 to 3 working days later. Delivery comes to £7.95, or free above £100 of goods. To add a station number, typesetting is £15 and a real person checks the file. Collection from our Manchester office (Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, M8 8EB) is possible once we email that it is ready. What size should I order?
Pick a size people can read from where they will stand. As a cautious rule, using the distance-factor method in ISO 3864-1, allow roughly 1 metre of reading distance per 25 mm of sign height (measured on the shorter side). Check it against your own risk assessment.
| Size | Can be read from about |
|---|---|
| A4 (210 × 297 mm) | 8 m |
| A3 (297 × 420 mm) | 12 m |
| A2 (420 × 594 mm) | 17 m |
| A1 (594 × 841 mm) | 24 m |
Good lighting stretches the reading distance; in dim spots, go a size up.

FAQs
Short answers on ordering keep your work area tidy sign in manchester.
Should I order one per machine?
That is how most Greater Manchester workshops do it. One sign per station makes it personal; one on the wall gets ignored.
Will vinyl survive regular wiping?
Yes, on a clean, smooth surface it takes routine wiping without peeling.
What pairs well with it?
PPE symbol stickers on the same guard, so each machine shows both rules together.
