About this product

Controller first, then the units

Think of a restaurant on Wilmslow Road in Rusholme. On a hot Saturday the manager walks to the wall controller, then looks up at the ceiling cassette. A label on the controller, and another on the indoor unit, tells them when it was last done and who to ring. A third, in waterproof stock, goes on the condenser out back for the next engineer.

Labelling only the outdoor unit is the classic miss. Nobody who books work goes round the back to look.

Stock and size for Manchester sites

Matt paper takes a ballpoint and suits controllers and indoor units. Gloss paper is brighter indoors. Outdoor condensers, roofs and plant decks need waterproof white polypropylene with a matt laminate, filled in with a permanent marker, as anything else will not last a Manchester winter. 76 x 51 mm fits most controllers; 96 x 68 mm suits a unit casing. Paper packs run from 48 to 3,600 and polypropylene starts at 250, kiss cut on sheets with permanent adhesive.
