Some camera signs just say cameras are present. This one goes further: it says images are recorded, around the clock. That is a useful message where incidents happen out of hours and the footage is what you rely on afterwards.

Who to contact, written on the sign

Once people know they are being recorded, some will want to know who holds the footage. ICO guidance on video surveillance expects signs to say who runs the cameras and how to reach them. The blank panel is where that goes: a company name, a phone number or an email.

A Manchester example

Pick a size people can read from where they will stand. As a cautious rule, using the distance-factor method in ISO 3864-1, allow roughly 1 metre of reading distance per 25 mm of sign height (measured on the shorter side). Check it against your own risk assessment.
