A Please Ring for Attention sign tells visitors at an unstaffed desk, hatch or gate what to do next, which is why Manchester receptions and storage sites use it. It is printed in the blue instruction style from A4 to A1 on self-adhesive vinyl, 3mm Foamex or 3mm Dibond, with 5 working days in production.

Please Ring for Attention Sign in Manchester
An empty reception desk makes visitors wander off or walk into the back. A clear sign by the bell keeps them where you want them and tells them someone is coming. It turns a quiet front desk into a working one.

About this product
Plenty of businesses do not have someone on the front desk all day. Self-storage sites, workshops with a small office, builders' merchants at quiet times, dental practices over lunch. The bell is there, but visitors do not always spot it, or are not sure they are meant to use it.
A Greater Manchester self-storage desk
Picture the reception at a self-storage site in Eccles. Staff are often out on the floor helping a customer with a trolley, and the desk sits empty. Visitors arrive, look around, then head through the door marked private to find somebody. A sign directly beside the bell, at the height of the counter, solves it: people see the instruction and the button together.
The usual error is putting the sign on the wall behind the desk or on the front door. Out of reach of the bell, it reads as general information rather than an action. Keep the two within a hand's width of each other.
Sizes and boards
A4 is the right size for almost every desk and reads from about 8 m. A3 suits a gatehouse window seen from a car. Vinyl sticks flat to a counter front or glass screen; Foamex works on a wall or as a free-standing panel; Dibond copes with an outdoor gate or hatch exposed to Greater Manchester weather. Prices start at £26.82.
You can add a line such as "Staff are on site" through typesetting for £15, checked by a person before print. We make it in 5 working days; the courier then typically needs 1 to 3 more. Delivery is £7.95, or free once your goods reach £100. More options in safety signs. Order your size here.

What size should I order?
Pick a size people can read from where they will stand. As a cautious rule, using the distance-factor method in ISO 3864-1, allow roughly 1 metre of reading distance per 25 mm of sign height (measured on the shorter side). Check it against your own risk assessment.
| Size | Can be read from about |
|---|---|
| A4 (210 × 297 mm) | 8 m |
| A3 (297 × 420 mm) | 12 m |
| A2 (420 × 594 mm) | 17 m |
| A1 (594 × 841 mm) | 24 m |
Good lighting stretches the reading distance; in dim spots, go a size up.

How we handle reviews
Reviews come only from customers who bought the product. We match each one to a real order and label it "Verified owner".
Every genuine review goes up as written, good or bad. We do not edit reviews or pick favourites. We only hold back spam, abuse, or reviews containing personal details such as a phone number or email address.
Stars are the average of all published reviews. Nobody is paid, discounted or given gifts for a review.
A review shows its writer’s first name and initial. If you want your own review removed, contact us.
