A physiotherapy or dental practice in a converted Victorian house in Sale is a typical buyer. The old brass plate lists one name; the practice now has five clinicians and a booking website. How you fix it decides how long it looks good. Sticky pads hold poorly on old brick, mortar and render, and a sign hanging by one corner looks worse than none. Order drilled holes and use plugs and stainless screws, or caps over the screw heads for a neater finish. On smooth painted wood or metal doors, strong double-sided tape works.
