About this product

An up arrow on a direction board means "ahead". It does not mean upstairs or up the ramp, and that is where it occasionally goes wrong: hang it at the foot of a scaffold stair or beside a ramp to a podium deck and someone will climb. Keep it on the ground-level route.

Riverside builds around Salford and Manchester

Apartment schemes along the Irwell often have one long access lane squeezed between hoarding and the water, with the compound at the far end. Every opening in the hoarding (a pedestrian gate, a crane base, a temporary car park) looks like a possible turning. A straight-on board on the hoarding opposite each opening saves a lot of three-point turns.

Pick a size people can read from where they will stand. As a cautious rule, using the distance-factor method in ISO 3864-1, allow roughly 1 metre of reading distance per 25 mm of sign height (measured on the shorter side). Check it against your own risk assessment.
