About this product

Beside the alarm, not on it

A landlord with flats in Droylsden fits CO alarms in every room with a gas appliance. Each gets a label on the wall or ceiling right beside it, filled in with the fitted date and the replace-by date from the alarm's own packaging. At the annual gas check, the engineer reads the date without taking the alarm down.

Sticking the label on the alarm itself is the mistake to avoid. It can cover the sensor openings or the test button, and the label vanishes when the alarm is swapped. Fix it alongside instead.

The "Test weekly" line nudges tenants to press the button. Your tenancy paperwork and safety records remain the formal record.
