About this product

Christmas events in Altrincham and across Greater Manchester

Think of a town centre Christmas lights switch-on. Organisers want the event name and date on the main roads into town for a fortnight beforehand, then arrows to the stage and the market on the night. Toblerones on the approach roads carry the date; a second set with arrows goes up on the day. Festivals, fun runs and new business launches use them the same way.

Permission comes first

Lamp posts belong to the highway authority, and putting signs on them usually needs its agreement. The mistake is ordering, fixing and then getting a call from the council asking for them to come down. Apply early, get the conditions in writing (how long, which posts, what height), then order so the signs arrive in good time. Some councils have rules on election material that are separate again, so check before any campaign.

These are printed to your design. Keep it simple: event name, date, one arrow or logo, high contrast. Drivers have a second to read it.
