A warning sudden drop sign marks a fall that people will not see coming, such as a canal edge, an unfenced retaining wall or a level change hidden by planting, anywhere in Manchester. It uses the yellow triangle and black wording in A3, A2 or A1 landscape, on Correx, Foamex or Dibond. Production is 5 working days.

Warning Sudden Drop Sign Printing in Manchester
The word that matters is sudden. This sign is for the edge that appears without warning, round a corner, behind a hedge or at the end of a path, so people slow down before they reach it rather than discovering it with their feet.

About this product
Hidden edges, not obvious ones
A new canal-side courtyard in Castlefield is the kind of place it suits. Landscaping softens the edge, evening light flattens the view, and visitors stroll towards water they cannot quite see. A sign at the start of each path that leads to the edge, at eye height, gives them warning in time.
People often put it right on the edge, where the drop is already obvious. By then the sign is redundant. Put it where the edge first becomes possible to reach but is still hard to see. For permanent edges, a barrier is still the real control; the sign explains it.
For digs and trenches rather than built edges, choose the Danger Deep Excavations sign instead. Danger signals the more serious, life-threatening level.
Size and board around Manchester waterways
On a path, A3 reads at about 12 metres, which is usually right for walkers. A2 at about 17 suits a wider courtyard, and A1 at about 24 a yard or open ground. Anything near water stays damp most of the year, so Dibond is the board to last. Correx works for a temporary landscaping job.
Ordering
The sign comes ready designed. Typesetting at £15 can add a site name or a line such as "Deep water", and a person checks the file free. From £26.55.

What size should I order?
Pick a size people can read from where they will stand. As a cautious rule, using the distance-factor method in ISO 3864-1, allow roughly 1 metre of reading distance per 25 mm of sign height (measured on the shorter side). Check it against your own risk assessment.
| Size | Can be read from about |
|---|---|
| A3 landscape (420 × 297 mm) | 12 m |
| A2 landscape (594 × 420 mm) | 17 m |
| A1 landscape (841 × 594 mm) | 24 m |
Good lighting stretches the reading distance; in dim spots, go a size up.

How we handle reviews
Reviews come only from customers who bought the product. We match each one to a real order and label it "Verified owner".
Every genuine review goes up as written, good or bad. We do not edit reviews or pick favourites. We only hold back spam, abuse, or reviews containing personal details such as a phone number or email address.
Stars are the average of all published reviews. Nobody is paid, discounted or given gifts for a review.
A review shows its writer’s first name and initial. If you want your own review removed, contact us.
