Safety Signs

Drug Free Zone Sign Printing in Manchester

from £26.82 ISO 7010 P001

For a gym or a youth club, the message matters as much as the rule. A printed sign tells members, parents and visitors where the club stands before anybody has to have an awkward conversation in the changing room.

About this product

Sports clubs and youth projects often want to make a statement as well as set a rule: this is a clean club.

A boxing club in Gorton

Think of an amateur boxing club in Gorton running junior sessions after school and adult classes in the evening. Parents dropping off ten-year-olds want to know the club takes this seriously, and the coaches want a standard they can point at. One sign at the main door, one in each changing room and one by the weights area covers the ground.

The common mistake is relying on a laminated A4 on the noticeboard among fixture lists and raffle tickets. Give the sign its own space at eye level, away from the clutter. A3, readable from roughly 12 m, holds its own on a gym wall.

How the rule is enforced, and what happens if it is broken, sits with the club's own policy and committee.

Which board for a Manchester gym

Gyms are humid. Vinyl on a smooth painted wall or a mirror edge copes well; Foamex is fine on a dry wall away from the showers. If a sign goes outside on the front of the building, use Dibond. Clubs and charities get 10 % off every order. Prices start at £26.82.

Add your club badge through typesetting at £15, checked by a person before printing. It takes 5 working days to produce, then tracked courier usually 1 to 3 working days. Delivery is £7.95, free on £100 or more of goods. Collect from our Manchester office at Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, M8 8EB if you prefer, once we have emailed that it is ready. What size should I order?

Pick a size people can read from where they will stand. As a cautious rule, using the distance-factor method in ISO 3864-1, allow roughly 1 metre of reading distance per 25 mm of sign height (measured on the shorter side). Check it against your own risk assessment.

Size	Can be read from about
A4 (210 × 297 mm)	8 m
A3 (297 × 420 mm)	12 m
A2 (420 × 594 mm)	17 m
A1 (594 × 841 mm)	24 m

Good lighting stretches the reading distance; in dim spots, go a size up.

Your design

Three routes to print-ready artwork. Pick whichever suits you.

Send your own file

Make the PDF at the ordered size plus 3 mm bleed on each edge. Someone on our team looks over every upload, free of charge, before printing starts.

Use the designer

This one needs a ready-made file rather than the designer. Stuck? We can prepare the artwork for you.

Let us do it

Choose typesetting, or a design worked up from your brief, when you reach the artwork step. File set-up advice.
