No Cleats Allowed on Track Surface Sign in Manchester
Studded boots tear synthetic tracks. One team walking across the bend to reach the pitch in the middle can leave a trail of damage. This sign stops them at the edge, before the first step onto the surface.

About this product
"Cleats" is the American word for boot studs, and it is the wording on this sign. In the UK most people will read it as football or rugby boots, which is exactly who it is aimed at.
A Wythenshawe track and infield, Greater Manchester
Think of a community athletics track in Wythenshawe with a football pitch on the infield. Every Saturday, junior teams walk straight across the track in their boots to reach the pitch. A synthetic surface is costly to repair. Signs at every point where people step onto the track, especially the gaps from the changing rooms, stop the damage at source.
The mistake is fixing signs on the stand or clubhouse, which footballers walk past without reading. Place them low on the barrier at each crossing point, facing the people about to cross. If there are crossing mats, point to them through typesetting at £15. A person checks the wording before it prints.
The track operator decides what footwear is allowed and where.
Board and size
Tracks are outdoors all year, so Dibond is the long-term board. Correx is good for a temporary crossing during a tournament. 5mm Foamex suits an indoor track or changing room door. A3 reads from about 12 m; A2, roughly 17 m, across a wide crossing. Schools and clubs get 10 % off every order. Prices start at £26.55.
It takes 5 working days to produce, with tracked delivery usually following within 1 to 3 working days. Delivery is £7.95, or free above £100 of goods. What size should I order?
Pick a size people can read from where they will stand. As a cautious rule, using the distance-factor method in ISO 3864-1, allow roughly 1 metre of reading distance per 25 mm of sign height (measured on the shorter side). Check it against your own risk assessment.
| Size | Can be read from about |
|---|---|
| A3 (297 × 420 mm) | 12 m |
| A2 (420 × 594 mm) | 17 m |
| A1 (594 × 841 mm) | 24 m |
Good lighting stretches the reading distance; in dim spots, go a size up.

How we handle reviews
Reviews come only from customers who bought the product. We match each one to a real order and label it "Verified owner".
Every genuine review goes up as written, good or bad. We do not edit reviews or pick favourites. We only hold back spam, abuse, or reviews containing personal details such as a phone number or email address.
