About this product

What the two boards feel like

Run a thumb across the 300gsm textured uncoated and you get a visible, slightly rough grain. It is the firmer of the pair and has a rustic, solid quality. Rives Shetland, at 250gsm, is finer and a touch more flexible, with a soft, papery handle that reads as refined rather than rugged.

Neither stock is coated, so colour sits into the fibres and comes out a shade softer than on silk. Strong, simple designs suit both. Hairline type and big dark solid areas suit neither, so keep fine detail to a minimum and test your colours on screen against a natural paper preview.

The other upside of no coating: biro and pencil both work. Sign a card, jot a time on it, write a reference number. Nothing skids.

Who chooses texture in Greater Manchester

People whose work is about materials and craft tend to like it. An Ancoats architect leaving a card on the meeting table after a site visit wants something that feels like a drawing sheet, not a flyer. Wedding suppliers, boutiques and furniture makers order it for the same reason: the card says something about the work before anyone reads it.

Pick the 85 × 55 mm oblong for a card that drops into any wallet, or the 55 × 55 mm square for a logo-led layout. Print the front only, or use the reverse for services, a web address or a QR code. Runs are 100, 250, 500, 1,000 and 5,000. Prices start at £41.12 and move with every option you choose.

If you want even more choice of paper, see the creative paper cards, which add bamboo, hemp, linen and pearl.

From file to doorstep

Upload a PDF with 3 mm of bleed on every side, or design the card in the free online designer. A person looks over every upload without charge before it prints. If you would rather hand it over, typesetting is £15 and a design from your brief is £35 (first draft plus two rounds of changes).

After payment and artwork sign-off, Saver needs 7 working days to make, Standard 5 and Express 3. The tracked courier usually adds one to three working days. Delivery is £7.95, free over £100 of goods, or collect from our Manchester office once we email that the cards are ready. Choose a paper and shape to see your price.

FAQs

Short answers on ordering textured business card printing in manchester.

Which texture is the thicker card?

The 300gsm textured uncoated. Rives Shetland is 250gsm, so it bends a little more and feels lighter, though its surface is the finer of the two.

Do photos work on textured stock?

They print, but softer than on a coated card, and the grain shows through flat areas of colour. Logos, type and simple graphics make better use of these papers.

Oblong or square for a textured card?

Go oblong if people keep cards in a wallet or holder. The 55 × 55 mm square shows off more of the paper around a central logo, which is often the point of choosing texture in the first place.

How long before cards arrive in Manchester?

Count production days first: 3 on Express, 5 on Standard, 7 on Saver, from payment and confirmed artwork. Then allow 1 to 3 working days on the tracked courier, which runs to Manchester addresses the same as anywhere else on the mainland.
